A DECADE OF EXCELLENCE

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS SINCE THE MERGER OF RAND AFRIKAANS UNIVERSITY, TECHNIKON WITWATERSRAND AND VISTA UNIVERSITY.

Mortimer Harvey worked closely with UJ to celebrate 10 Years Of Excellence, since the merger of Rand Afrikaans University, Technikon Witwatersrand and Vista University, to form The University of Johannesburg - UJ.

Engaging the artisitic community, and utilising existing media formats we embarked on a highly involving campaign to celebrate this 10th birthday.

AWARDS:

To celebrate the University of Johannesburg’s 10th anniversary, the bridge outside their Auckland Park Kingsway Campus was to be turned into an art installation. But first, local artists needed to be invited to submit proposals.

We wanted to inspire the artists, while giving them the tools to help them conceptualise.

 

So, each received a package, including a Moleskine Journal with a laser-etched cover. Inside every one was a hand-written, personalised message and a one-off, hand-illustrated, original artwork.


The invitation was extremely well received with a 100% response rate.

AOA magazine is a quarterly content vehicle that celebrates achievement - not just for the University of Johannesburg (UJ), but also for the surrounding city and the inspiring people who call it home.

Distributed with top newspaper publications - The Mail & Guardian, The Times, Financial Mail and Business Day - and placed in various business lounges, the magazine aims to present a university of global excellence and stature to a mature market.

 

This was the DECADE EDITION which explored a number of successes in the UJ landscape since its inception.
