Mortimer Harvey treats carers at HospiceWits to a day of pampering for Mandela Day

Mortimer Harvey spent a day giving something back to the staff at HospiceWits. The initiative, called #CareForTheCarers, was conceptualised and launched by the agency in celebration of Mandela Day. HospiceWits provides care and support to communities within the Johannesburg Metropolitan District, primarily Johannesburg and Soweto.
Mortimer Harvey made arrangements for therapists from the Mangwanani Spa to travel to the HospiceWits Houghton and Soweto sites, where they treated HospiceWits employees and volunteers to 67 minutes of pampering. After a hand, foot and back massage or a neck and shoulder massage the carers were offered a bite to eat and given a ‘Pamper Pack’ to take home.

Andrew Fradd, Group Managing Director of Mortimer Harvey, said that the Care for the Carers initiative is an opportunity for the agency to acknowledge and show appreciation for the daily sacrifices made by carers at HospiceWits, as well as the selfless volunteers who give their time and effort to support a vital cause. “The initiative was a great success, with messages of appreciation for carers received on Facebook and via live tweets from HospiceWits fans.”

“It’s a cause we’d like to continue supporting in future, and we look forward to our next opportunity to Care for the Carers,” said Fradd.
